The common thread tends to be that they’re organisations who don’t just want to ‘send lots of emails’ – they want to use bubblebox:mailer as the basis of ongoing intelligent and targeted campaigns.
We have links and working relationships with all the large email providers (AOL, Hotmail etc). We also take great care to conform to their best practice guidelines and technical specifications. bubblebox:mailer emails ‘announce themselves’ as such, and are fully traceable back to our servers – one of the characteristics of less reputable mailing software is that it tries to disguise its origin.
Our unique Data Watchdog system enables us to vet our clients in order to weed out those who might be sending spam email – this protects you from being tarred by association.
Two main reasons:
Support:We offer personal customer service, and are very, very easy to get hold of should you need help with a feature or technical support.
Deliverability:The email marketing ‘culture’ in Canada is tighter and more professional, with an emphasis on targeting emails to those who have opted-in to receive them (the vast majority of spam emails originate from providers in the USA). This gives us two advantages – we don’t have a problem with our servers being ‘blacklisted’ by ISPs, and we are geared up to provide 100% delivery, rather than expecting many emails to be rejected. Canadian companies also have to abide by the The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and soon the new Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act 2010 .
You should also carefully compare features between products – especially on the tracking/reporting front.
If you are buying lists externally, we recommend that you carefully check the source of any you purchase. We can recommend a reputable and reliable source of good quality lists; they are leading members of the DMA and will offer you independent and unbiased advice. Contact us for more details.
The number of contact records you can upload and the number of mailing lists you can create varies according to your user licence. To find out more click here. There is no restriction on the number of campaigns you can create.
We recommend that you use a dedicated domain for your email marketing sends, to avoid your main domain being affected by blacklisting. We can help you with this.
You can easily export a list of unsubscribers from bubblebox:mailer to help you manage any offline lists you have – this will export in a format you choose. As a failsafe, bubblebox:mailer won’t re-upload any names that have previously unsubscribed to a list – but you should always take care to delete them from your own records should you be keeping separate information locally.
If you’re a web programmer, you can use our API to unsubscribe users and take advantage of one of our pre-built connectors. Creating Emails
Hotmail currently allows for HTML5 script to embed video in email and this can be used in bubblebox:mailer.
How can I use Site and ROI Tracking?
Site and ROI Tracking enable you to track your contacts when they access your website through links in your email campaign.
To view Site and ROI Tracking, select Campaigns from the navigation pane and then select Advanced Features. Select the Site & ROI Tracking tab to display the following screen:-
The site tracking code is displayed on this screen. This code must be added to every page on your website which you wish to track before the closing </body> tag. This will enable you to track which pages your contacts go to after clicking a link in your email. This information is provided within the reporting area against the relevant campaign.
If you need to track across different sub domains then enter the name of your domain (without the sub domain) into the “Domain to track” box within the Sub domains section.
The ROI tracking code is displayed near the bottom of this screen.
This code will enable you to track purchases made by a contact linking to your website from a link in your email campaign.
The parameters “product”, “product name” and “CheckoutAmount” are variable names and therefore should be replaced with whatever you use to name these fields within your own systems. i.e. this is just an example.
Any purchases made are tracked and this information is shown in the reporting area against the relevant campaign.
